COUNTY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RULES
01
This competition is open to both men & ladies providing they are members
of a LIBA affiliated club. If a player is a member of more than one
club, the player may play for the club of his/her choice. This is a
"one off" competition so it will not affect the players status for playing
in the County Leagues & Competitions from their other registered club.
02
Each participating club will be represented by an even number of rinks of
four players. The number of rinks will be decided by the county
committee after taking into account the circumstances of each club.
03
For each rink that plays at home, another will play away. The away
rinks from each club will travel to different venues to be determined by
the county committee.
04
Each rink will play two games of 21 ends or 2 hrs. 45 min. - whichever is
the shorter. A signal will be given at the end of 2 hr. 45 min.
after which the jack shall not be cast again.
05
One trial end shall be played within the time allowed.
06
The home rinks will cast the jack for the first end of each game.
07
After the first game, the home rinks will move up one rink and the away
rinks will move down one rink. Where only two rinks are being used at
a venue, the home rinks will change, but the visitors will play both games
on the same rink.
08
A maximum of one substitute, nominated prior to the start of the first
game, will be allowed in each rink for the second game. Players may change playing positions before the start of the second game.
Failure to abide by the rules will result in any score being void
and the opposition being awarded 10 points for each offending rink.
09
In the event of illness (or other extenuating circumstances) during or
between games, a substitute shall be allowed in accordance with WIBC law
57(1). If no substitute is available, the number 2 position will be
left vacant.
10
The home club will be responsible for the payment & the providing of rinks
& refreshments between the games.
11
10 points are available for each match, & will be divided between the two
teams on the following basis:
Match drawn
5 points each
1 - 4 shots advantage
6 points & 4 points
5 - 8 shots advantage
7 points & 3 points
9 - 12 shots advantage
8 points & 2 points
13 - 16 shots advantage
9 points & 1 point
17 + shots advantage
10 points 7 0 points
12
Should any rink fail to arrive & be ready to start at the prescribed time,
10 points will be awarded to the opposition. No shots will be
awarded. If this penalty is incurred, the club in question may be
barred from future competition.
13
All results shall be telephoned to a central point as soon as possible
after the conclusion of each session.
14
The final total of points for each club, will be divided by the number of
rinks participating on behalf of that club, to arrive at the "average
points" scored per rink. The club achieving the highest average
shall be the winner.
15
Should two or more clubs have an equal average on points, then the highest
average shot advantage will be used to separate them.
16
If two or more clubs still cannot be separated, then the highest number of
shots scored on average will be used. If the positions are still
equal then the clubs concerned will be declared joint winners.
17
If for any reason the matches have to be abandoned at one particular
venue, the points totals from the other venues shall be totalled & divided
by the number of rinks which actually played.
18
Any eventualities not covered by these rules shall as far as possible
conform to the current EIBA laws of the game
19
Players are expected to abide by the rules of the host club with regard to
smoking & to running on the green etc. |
